Navigating life as a young person in the foster care system isn't easy. You’ve had to be stronger and more resilient than most.  For a long time, other people may have been writing the chapters of your life. They’ve made the plans and set the rules, often without your input.

Transitioning into your own independence is a big step, but you don't have to do it without the right tools. We want to help you take the lead in your own life: from understanding how your brain works to learning how to advocate for your own desires and leveraging your experiences for success.

Explore the resources below to find new ways to communicate, learn, and grow. This is your journey, and we are honored to help you lead the way.

As a teen, every day adults are telling you what to do, but you want to make your own decisions, your own choices.

You are an individual, with your own dreams and experiences. You want the adults in your life to listen to you.

In this interactive training, you will learn how to understand and communicate your requests to the adults in your life in a way that they will listen and respect your ideas.

You’ll learn ‘why’ your brain makes the decisions it does, and learn a way of sharing your needs, expectations and desires with adults so they will hear you.

In this dynamic, interactive session, you will explore the intricate relationship between memories, learning, and achievement.

Guided by an experienced mentor, you will learn the profound influence memories make on where you are now, where you are going, and how you are able to influence your own success.

Through engaging discussions, you will gain key insights about learning, explore your definition of success, and learn how to leverage your memories for personal growth.

The workshop will help you identify your individual learning styles and preferences, empowering you to embrace your unique identity and overcome barriers.

The Agreement Process is a communication tool, a means to open communication.

The Agreement Process was developed to help adults and teens really listen and find solutions together.

The Agreement is not a contract, it is a collaborative process – to set expectations with each other, and to build a plan that works for everyone involved.

It’s about active listening, collaboration, and finding a way - together.
